Banner Churchill Leadership Sees Two Changes

March of Dimes Recognizes Banner Churchill for Work to Give More Babies a Healthy Start

FALLON, Nev. (April 26, 2017) - Banner Churchill Community Hospital received recognition from health leaders in Nevada for working toward the safest start at life for Nevada’s youngest residents. This was accomplished through a hospital practice regarding when physicians can deliver babies by cesarean section without a medically-necessary reason. Sandoval Signs Senate Bill 201 which Prohibits “Gender Conversion Therapy” for Minors
Carson City, NV - Governor Brian Sandoval today signed Senate Bill 201, a measure that prohibits the practice of “gender conversion therapy” in Nevada. Under SB201, it is illegal for any licensed medical or mental health care provider to provide sexual orientation or gender conversion therapy to anyone under 18 years of age.
Sandoval Signs Bills that Expand Benefits to State Dependents, Protect Highway Workers, Provide Life-Saving Training to High School Students and Place Training Requirements on Board of Trustees
Governor Brian Sandoval today signed Assembly Bills 1, 17, 85, and 451. The Governor was joined by Speaker Jason Frierson, Ways and Means Chairwoman Maggie Carlton, Assembly Minority Leader Paul Anderson, additional members of the Legislature, and supporters and advocates. All of these measures passed with bipartisan, bicameral, unanimous support. Each new law becomes effective July 1, 2017.
